After the blackouts of the war, I rethought darkness. The idea was born in the desire for light
Aliens over Volodymyr
The painting interprets the night panorama of Kyiv that the artist observed in Volodymyrska hill park during the blackout of 2022-2023. At the bottom of the composition are dim lights from the windows on the Left Bank. Above - yellow flashes-ovals in the shape of eggs flying in the sky over the Dnieper and Vladimir's cross. In that winter time, together with many other Kyivans, the author repeatedly observed the phenomenon of lunar halos and drones shot down in the city.

heart and brain, ratio and emotions
Two halves: the left - logical, rational, represented by the brain, and the right - emotional, sensual, embodied in the heart. They cannot exist without each other. The rational brain is a "calculator", and the emotions of the heart give meaning to this "calculator".
The painting shows two hands, a man's and a woman's, forming a heart. In the dark, under the influence of ultraviolet, the heart is filled with the universe. Enlarge the image and you will see the volume of the colored universe.
The hands symbolize love, unity and hope, and the light emanating from the heart is good, happiness or spiritual enlightenment.

A little about the materialization of the idea:
Fluorescent pigments on the paintings react to ultraviolet light and sentient souls.
The paintings have different nuances and sometimes meanings based on whether it is exposed to daylight or UV light. The night glow reflected from the painting can gently illuminate the room.
In the photos, a hand-made UV lamp is attached to the painting or is next to it. This lamp comes with a painting. Night perception of a luminous picture depends on the ambient light, the state of the human nervous system, and the adaptation of his eyes to the dark. Therefore, the ultraviolet lamp is equipped with a dimmer and lampshade. The maximum dimmer modes allow you to view the picture at night with low ambient light, and the minimum modes will be comfortable after the eyes have adapted to absolute darkness. The lampshade's function is to keep the spot of UV light within the painting and to minimize contamination of the interior of the room by the visible blue light of the LED. The LED inside the lampshade can be moved to increase or decrease the size of the light spot in the painting. The black color of the lampshade is designed to absorb reflections. The glow of the image reflected from the LED is no longer ultraviolet, the length of the rays is in the spectrum visible to the eye.
The art night light is powered by USB, which allows you to connect it to any power source with USB ports for 3-5 volts, 1-2 amps such as a computer, a power bank, or a phone charger.
My picture doesn't need a frame to display properly as the edges of the picture are painted in the background color. There are mounts for hanging the picture. The painting is varnished, so it is protected and can be framed without glass.
